Privacy policy

LapBeam does not collect, store, sell or share any personal data. This page explains what the apps do with your files and settings.

Your files

Your videos, photos and other files stay on your own laptop. When you open them on a phone you have paired, LapBeam sends them directly from your laptop to that phone, over your own Wi-Fi or your own Tailscale network. Nothing is uploaded to a LapBeam server. LapBeam has no servers.

When you share a file to another app, the phone app keeps a temporary copy only for as long as that app needs it, then deletes it. A file is saved permanently on your phone only when you choose "Save to phone".

Settings

Person names, access codes, chosen folders and permissions are saved only on your laptop and phone. They are never sent to us.

No accounts, ads or tracking

LapBeam has no sign-up, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. This website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies.

Camera

The phone app uses the camera only to scan the LapBeam QR code. The scan happens on your phone, and no images are saved or sent.

Other apps

When you send a file to another app, such as Instagram, YouTube or WhatsApp, that app's own privacy policy applies to what you share there.

Children

LapBeam is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
